Here are some external factors that affect the video quality, please read before installation.
Cleaning the inside and outside of the windshield with glass cleaner to remove dirt, dust, fingerprints, grease, oil and grime, which affects the quality of the video footage.
Tinted window films restrict lights from getting through to the image sensor, especially for nighttime. Setting a higher EV value can improve this problem. Unlike other products, the EV value can only be adjusted simultaneously. MASIGO Dash Cam can independently adjust the EV value of the front and rear camera. When you adjust the EV value for rear camera, the front videos will not be compromised.
If your dash cam is mounted farther back and captures glare or reflections from the dashboard, consider the following suggestions:
Rotatable CPL Filter: Attach a rotatable Circular Polarizing Lens (CPL) filter to your dash cam. This filter reduces glare and reflections from the windshield, resulting in clearer footage. Make sure the CPL filter is compatible with your dash cam and properly aligned for optimal results.
Anti-Glare Dashboard Mat: Place an anti-glare mat on your dashboard to minimize reflections. These mats are designed to absorb light and reduce glare, improving video quality.
By implementing these suggestions, you can enhance the clarity of your dash cam footage and minimize glare and reflections from the dashboard.
Position your dash cam where it can capture the best view of the road, which should ideally be on the passenger side of your rear-view mirror so that it doesn’t obstruct the driver’s vision. After positioning your dashcam, adjust the front lens angle slightly upwards to have a 6:4 ratio of the ground to the sky in the screen. This angle offers a good balance of exposure and details. For the rear camera, please rotate the rear camera angle downward, and make sure the rear camera can see the license plate number of the car behind.
