★ Don’t forget to peel off the protective lens film before installation
Clean your windshield:
It's vital that you keep your windshield clean. Cleaning the inside and outside of the windshield with glass cleaner to remove dirt, dust, fingerprints, grease, oil, and grime, which affects the quality of the video footage.
Mount the dash cam:
Mount your dash cam where it can capture the best view of the road, which should ideally be on the passenger side of your rear-view mirror so that it doesn’t obstruct the driver’s vision.
There is a static cling in the package of the user manual. Applying the static cling to the windshield of your car is highly recommended. Make sure the clear film is secure by pressing it down on the windshield. The clear film should be flat and rid of any air bubbles. Apply your camera's adhesive mount on top of the film to finish. Please do not cut the static cling film to prevent the camera from falling. To remove the mount, easily peel away the removable film.
Connect the power cable:
MASIGO dashcam comes with a 3.5m/11.5ft long power cord. One end of the power cord plugs (mini-USB) into the GPS Adhesive Mount, and the other male adaptor end plugs straight into your cigarette lighter socket (also called the 12V accessory port). Once connected this way, the dash dam will automatically turn on and off with your ignition. The cigarette socket in your car will provide power when the engine is on, and lose power when the engine is off.
Route wires behind the vehicle trim along the windshield, doorframe, or dash.
Adjust the lens angle:
Rotate the adjusting knob, loosen it counterclockwise to adjust the direction of the dash cam, and then tighten it clockwise after adjustment.
Adjust the front lens angle slightly upwards to have a 6:4 ratio of the ground to the sky in the screen. This angle offers a good balance of exposure and details. For the rear camera, please rotate the rear camera angle downward, and make sure the rear camera can see the license plate number of the car behind.
